It’s been a good year so far. The second amendment does in fact say what it looks like it says, the Great Writ does in fact apply even when it’s inconvenient for it to do so, The Japanese have invented the world’s smallest Cup O’Noodle, and the Cubs are on top of the division.
Let’s hear it for the land of the free and the home of the Braves, huh? Oh, and also Japan, which I guess snuck in there somewhere around point three.

I’m sorry, but it’s been a whole week now, and I still can’t stop grinning about the Heller decision (Cato, Cato, Wiki, SCOTUSblog!). I love that they got this one done in time for tomorrow. Independence Day, motherfuckers.
In related news, does anyone know where I can get a big poster of Justice Scalia to hang on my bedroom wall? Dude’s my new hero.
Undoubtedly some think that the Second Amendment is outmoded in a society where our standing army is the pride of our Nation, where well-trained police forces provide personal security, and where gun violence is a serious problem. That is perhaps debatable, but what is not debatable is that it is not the role of this Court to pronounce the Second Amendment extinct.
We affirm the judgment of the Court of Appeals.
It is so ordered.

Blizzard has officially announced Diablo 3 as of the Worldwide Invitational, which should come as a surprise to nobody at all. Fortunately for the exclamation-point industry, lots of people the internet over appear to have failed to make the simple connection in advance.
It’s mathematically provable that, in this dispensation, Blizzard + New Game == Diablo 3. How? We already know there’s a new Warcraft game in development (WoW: Wrath of the Lich King), and we already know there’s a new Starcraft game in development (Starcraft 2). Subtract those from the whole list of currently-active Blizzard franchises and you’re left with Diablo 3.
Maybe all those people had their money on a new Lost Vikings game. Shit, I’d buy it. Lost Vikings rocked the SNES.
