I ran into this article while I was researching my last post. It’s pretty insipid and brainless, but I’m not going to dissect it here. But there’s one line I can’t possibly resist:
The Yankees team that won four championships in five seasons has no shortage of players to honor. Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera will certainly end up with their uniform numbers retired.
Yes, I would say it is a certainty that Mariano Rivera’s uniform number will be retired. Because Mariano Rivera wears number 42, dingbat.
